Orecus

Orecus is a swedish modern death metal band originally founded in 2011 and re-launched in 2020.

Drawing influences from the riff-focused modern era death metal together with the aggression of it’s older counterpart, Orecus form a clear path between sheer brutality and clever songwriting.

With the 2024 ’Dreadnought’ album release, the band continued on the path that ’Obliterationist’ paved, with delivering straight to the point and uncompromised modern death metal. All whilst at the same time diving into more chaotic, dissonant and melancholic territories than before.

Heading into 2026 with the release of ’Judgement’, Orecus continue to craft their trademark interpretation death metal, leaning more into the chaotic and brutal elements than ever before.
